Why choose a trail at Mont Du Lac Des Cygnes?

Located near the territory of the attractive Charlevoix region of Quebec, the Mont du Lac des Cygnes is considered to be core attraction of the Grands-Jardins National Park. People who love hiking can get an adventurous outing here.  Not only hikers but only the campers and the anglers, this is a startling place to select. This park is a branch of the association of vicinities that are protected and supervised by the

Société des établissements de plein air du Québec, precisely SEPAQ. The apex of this Mont du Lac des Cygnes is located exactly at the border of a 56 km diameter impact cave formed back 300 million years ago named as the Charlevoix Crater. Extending beneath the Saint Lawrence River, the crater has a center where the 768m Mont des Eboulements lies.

This is an uplift shaped right after the collision of meteorite. More or less 90% of the total inhabitants of this Charlevoix have taken the crater as their residence. The names of the prevalent towns inside the crater are La Malbaie and Baie-St-Paul. It has a distance of 8.8 km.

For this Mont du Lac des Cygnes, the trailhead I located at the Grands-Jardins central tourist center which in on the route 381. To reach here, you have to drive around 1.5 to 2 hours via route 138 of the Northeast of Quebec City. The Baie-St-Paul town is a drive away less than a half an hour passing route 381 which is renowned to be a scenic drive. The key trial of 4.2 km to the Mont du Lac des Cygnes had been modified back in 2009.

Though the summit has a 500 m elevation gain, it is reachable to most of the people. For making the concluding step towards the summit easier for the navigator, it has a long series of stairs. This trial remains open round the year and is considered to be perfect snow-shoe hiking location. In the summer months, the visitors get a Via Ferrate which was installed in 2014. Along with a guide, groups of equal or less than 8 persons can visit together. Late September or the early October can be the perfect period for climbing. The elevation is of 3215 ft or 980 m.

The difficulty level may seem higher for you if you are a newbie in hiking because this hiking territory is renowned for the experienced hikers. So if you are a newbie, get ready to fall so many times while you are tying. The forest and mountain will take you back to the calm and soothing environment again. We will rate this location in 4.5 stars out of 5 for the scenarios and hiking-perfect vicinity.
