Why choose a trail at Parc National Des Grands-jardins?

This park, with an area of 310 kmΒ², was established in 1981 to preserve the tundra and caribou territory. The latter, in mountainous terrain, has several peaks reaching over 1,000 m. The flora of the park is very diverse. Besides the taiga, there is tundra, alpine and subarctic vegetation and deciduous forests, coniferous and boreal. Winter conditions can make it difficult climbing Mount Swan Lake, from an altitude of 980 m. At its peak, a viewpoint offers a view of the St. Lawrence River, the chasm valley, Charlevoix crater and the park peaks. The trail Chouenne, the latest, reached a new peak perched at 730 meters above sea level and offers a 360 degree view of the mountains of the hinterland
