Starting Point

The National Park consists of a lot of trails which are almost 12 km long park trails. If you want to Enjoy themed trails then you must take the route of DeLaurier House and Trail, or if you want to experience a more natural hiking experience and want to venture through cedar savannah, dryland, and swamp forest then take the route to the Woodland Nature Trail.

On the other hand, if you want to have the shortest hike with family or friends then you must take the trail which is called Marsh Broadwalk trail. It's a 1 km long loop and you would discover the most diverse habitat in the park such as cattails, red-winged blackbirds, and painted turtles.

If you want to take a biking day out then start your journey from Marsh Broadwalk and take the route to Centennial Bike trail which is 4 km long and takes 2 hrs to hike.

Point Pelee National Park is open throughout the year offering various activities during the winter and summer seasons. You get to explore the oldest history by walking down the trails of the Carolinian forest.

You can also Learn about 10,000 years of Point Pelee's human history while you hike through Delaurier Homestead & Trail which is 1.2 km long. Also, discover the different old 70 species of trees when you hike through the Botham Tree Trail.

The National Park offers an incredible offer for people which is the Tip Shuttle wheelchairs that allows you to reach the tip of the park and get a beautiful sunset view, get a beautiful scent of the wildflowers, and learn about the dragonflies, different species of birds and monarch butterflies.

Take a hike to the national park but don't ever miss out on their special events and guided programs. Those special events are being held in spring, winter, and summer. There is a festival of birds held in May.

In summers you can do water activities such as canoeing, kayaking, and swimming on the sandy beaches of Essex County. There are special events held during winter like Owl Prowl, scavenger hunt, and family programs during Family Day and March Break.

They also have specific educational programs in which you can get a student walk and explore wildflowers and you can take a family migration hike and look around the southernmost part of mainland Canada.

Do your reservation in one of the best and unique camping cabins. They are so relaxing, comfortable, and convenient camps located under the canopy of Carolinian Forest. They are designed keeping in mind the historical essence of Canada, they are A-shaped cabins, with wooden flooring and prospector tents. They have a spacious living area, with master-sized double beds and single beds, and with nearby parking area. The fee is $120 per night.

Quality Inn Leamington

It is located only 10 minutes by walk from lake Erie and 4.8 miles away from Point Pelee Park. Which makes it feasible for people who visit the national park to stay near it. They offer Free WiFi. They also serve complimentary tea or coffee and free parking lots. They have a big bar which the guests usually love and their rooms are extremely clean. The room service is also incredible as they have the most friendly and competent staff. They have a business king room with one king-size bed and queen rooms with queen size beds.

Where to eat?

Marsh Store

You can get pre-packed snack boxes from the marsh store. You can also get ice cream or drinks from the store. Breakfast and lunch can also be bought during festivals. The marsh store is run by the Friends of Point Pelee.

Point Pelee Trading Post

Point Pelee trading post is our most favorite place for our guests to have brunch or dine in. It is located in Leamington Ontario, Canada. Which serves Canadian Cuisine. The atmosphere is cozy, they have an incredibly unique wood-burning fireplace, a lovely mix of antiques, and modern flair. They also have a retail space upstairs offering delicious local wine. It is a combination of three things that are restaurant bar, double-decker bus fast food, and trading post. From the trading post, you can also purchase different paintings, etc. There Nachos and French onion soup are our absolute favorite and a must-try!
