Why choose a trail at Les Sentiers De L'estrie?

Located in the city of Sherbrooke, in the Eastern Townships, the Trails are known as the oldest long-distance hiking trail in Quebec!

The Trails, which connect the village of Richmond to the U.S. border, have a network of more than 200 kilometers of trails, which will suit beginners as well as the most seasoned hikers: it will be possible to hike through forests, to survey the peaks of several mountains, but also to go along all kinds of water points.

Families are not left out and will be able to discover adapted routes, such as the unmissable Bear Cave.

Those who want to can also take part in one of the 200 guided hikes organized each year by the Trails organization, which encourages mountain walking for everyone.

Why visit Les Sentiers De L'estrie

Whether hiking, running or snowshoeing, there is no shortage of things to do and discover on the trails: there are plenty of choices for organizing day hikes or more!

For example, in the Sutton area and the Echo area, it will be possible to observe a beautiful wooded wilderness where local wildlife lives: lynx, bear or eastern cougar have found refuge in what has largely become, in 2009, the Nature Reserve of the Mountains.

The Kingsbury area, offers a charming setting where you can hike up La Rouche cliff and along water features like the Salmon River or Kingsbury Pond. Not to mention the hilltops of the Brompton Zone, the Bolton Pass of the Glen Zone or the Chapman Zone, following the crest of the Stoke Mountains!

Things not to be missed

The course has several accommodations to welcome visitors

Being a very long course, it will be possible in one of the rustic campsites or to stay in one of the partner accommodations!
