The Mt. Van Hoevenberg is a 2,940-meter mountain in the Adirondack Mountains near Lake Placid, in Essex County, New York. The mountain was originally named "Cascade" by early settlers, but the name was changed to Van Hoevenberg in 1876 after its discoverer, Arnold Henry Van Hoevenberg. The first recorded ascent of the mountain was made in 1870 by William D. Baldwin and party.

The Mt. Van Hoevenberg Recreation Area is located on the mountain and offers downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, bobsledding, and skating. The Olympic Sports Complex is also located at the recreation area and hosted the bobsledding, luge, and skeleton events during the 1980 Winter Olympics.
