It can be a challenging climb in the fall and winter if there is ice but the view at the top makes it absolutely worth while.

Its approximately 5 miles and 3.5 hours round trip if you're a mid-level hiker. The first hour is quite easy yet the last 45-30 mins is the best part. several times we stopped to breath because ea lot of it was vertical, with the last climb being straight rock climbing. The view, the trip, all is worth it, but it was definitely challenging, no downplaying its harder than it seems.

Starting Point

To reach the trailhead for hiking, head to the parking lot located on Route 3, approximately 8 miles west of Saranac Lake. This is the primary access point for the trail. There are no alternative trailheads for this particular hike.
