The echo cliffs trailhead is located in the town of Palenville in Greene County, New York. From Albany, take Interstate 87 north to exit 21. Take Route 23 west to the town of Palenville. The trailhead is located on the left side of the road just past the entrance to Kaaterskill Falls.
