Why choose a trail at Auberge des Glacis?

The Auberge des Glacis is a treasure, located in a valley in a vast territory between river and mountains.

Located on the banks of the Tortue River, the Auberge des Glacis was originally a seigneurial flour mill. On 5 acres of land, the owners laid out winding trails through the forest.

Throughout the hike, you can see a few signs that recall the history of the mill and its inn.

Please note that this place is open throughout the year. And that the entrance to access it is

Beautiful cozy inn. The food is excellent. The 5 acres grounds are hiding cute little paths leading to great views. There are hammocks and chairs to relax in. The must-try are the river chairs!

Starting Point

From Highway 20, take exit 400 and turn onto Route 285 South. Turn left onto Lamartine Road East and continue for 3.5 km. Turn left onto Route de la Tortue. Parking is at the Auberge des Glacis, located at 46.

Why visit Auberge des Glacis

The Glacis Inn contains about 4 great trails. There are many activities to do, right at the Inn: gardens with hiking or snowshoeing trails, historic bunkers, river chairs and corking tree, massage therapy and even bike trails and access to 50 km of cross country skiing trails from the facility!

After a very long day of activities, it is possible to rent at the facility or rent unique accommodations!

Our favorites in the vicinity

La Brise Saline

The Salt Breeze at Sharon is an exceptional cottage. It has a panoramic view of the river! It is fully equipped. In addition, there are two decks, a Napoleon BBQ, an outdoor wood burning fireplace and a gas fireplace, adirondack chairs, patio table. Note that the walk down to the river is very convenient.

The little box

This little box is our favorite!

The Little Box is a rustic, simple and comfortable 4-season accommodation. Its windows are optimized towards the river, creating an atmosphere of true immersion in its environment and offering a magnificent view of the St. Lawrence River and its sunset.

You can also enter the river and its shoreline. Whatever the season, you will be drawn to the space around The Little Box.

Cottage

This beautiful residence welcomes you to a unique historic site, located on the riverfront between the waterfall and the river. The house is over 100 years old, but not lacking in contemporary comforts!

The house is squarely in the river that borders it, and faces an ancestral mill. This combination creates a warm atmosphere that is pleasant in all seasons.
