Why choose a trail at Sentier de la roche du millénaire?
Located 200 m from the observation tower, the trail winds through boreal forest. All along the route, interpretive signs explain geological phenomena and learn about the diversity of the flora of this site, which enjoys a microclimate. In a section of the path, we can build an inukshuk with stones littering the site. The trail climbs a hill, from where one has a panoramic view of the forest and lakes in the region and leads to Roche, an erratic block of 250 tons, older segment of the ripped mountain and deposited at the back of a glacier. A small bird trail can observe and learn about the many species of birds that inhabit the area, including geese and sandhill cranes.
