The start of the trails at the beartown mountain can be accessed by taking Route 8 south to Route 20 east. Take Route 20 east to the junction of Route 8 and take Route 8 north. The junction of Routes 8 and 20 is located in the town of Charlemont. The beartown mountain is located on the left side of the road.
