Starting Point
To access the hiking trails, you can start at the Chairback Mountain trailhead. The primary trailhead is located at the end of Katahdin Iron Works Road. From Brownville Junction, take Route 11 north and turn onto Katahdin Iron Works Road. Follow this road for approximately 6 miles to reach the parking area near the trailhead. Note that this road may be rough in places, so a vehicle with good clearance is recommended.
