Why hike at Gorges du Bès ?
The Gorges du Bès are located in the Ardèche department, in the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region. They are part of the Ardèche Gorges and are located near the village of Saint-Remèze. The Gorges du Bès are made of limestone rocks and are about 1,5 km long. They are very narrow, with a maximum width of 10 m, and present numerous waterfalls and rapids. The Bès is a torrent that originates in the Vivarais mountains and crosses the Gorges du Bès before flowing into the Ardèche river. This river offers many opportunities for the practice of water sports, such as canoeing or rafting.
