We didn't do this but it looks like on the map you can keep walking along the old railway line then go back along the road. The walk is quite long so know what you are getting in to. In terms of route we found the second half quite tiring.
Centennial ridge
This is one of the longest trails, 6 hours is recommended, but 5 or less is possible . long challenging hike. On a beautiful summer day our family completed this hike. For us seniors, it was challenging but doable, less strenuous then centennial ridge. Our kids found it not that hard as there is minimal hill climbing, Lots of...More. Great walk for fit, adventurous nature lovers. There are some beautiful spots on this trail, but the rocks and roots can make it tricky to navigate. This trail provides magnificent scenery and photo opportunities and a more of a challenging/ rewarding hike for those looking for something a little bit more testing.
Algonquin provincial park
The circuit is just over 11k and is classed as a 6 hour hike, although we did it in...More. Challenging trail, it took us over four hours to hike it. Many black bear footprints on the mud, right on the trail, but didn't get a chance to see one there. This trail is great for exploring the wildlife of Algonquin. Loop trail

Mizzy Lake Trail is a 11.1 kilometer moderately trafficked loop trail located near Nipissing, Ontario, Canada that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from February until November. Apparently is quite good for spotting moose, and some other people on the trail in the morning saw a wolf but for me was average. The only tough part of the trail was the was the old railroad where the deer flies were relentless. We hiked in running shoes after a good rain a couple days before and made out just fine. We didn't see any major wildlife but we did see tons of tracks in the mud along with some screams/callings in the distance. None the less it was a great hike and we really felt like we got to see part of the park that we really wouldn't see any other way. Be sure to wear good shoes. Parts of the trail were very muddy, overall very rocky/lots of roots... make sure to wear good hiking shoes! Saw lots of painted turtles, signs of moose and deer but unfortunately no sightings. I'm not sure why everyone rated this hike 5/5. I did it on a warm Sunday afternoon and found the trail irritating in most places with ankle deep mud. The nicest, most scenic views are the half way stretch but was disappointed to find out lazy people could just drive and park their fat butts there. I saw dozens of people in that area but did not see anyone else on the trail. Nice to get out but I will not choose this hike again. Great place, I went there in summer and it was wonderful.
Changes to see wildlife
I wanted to love this trail. We hiked it in early November, and it may as well have been early spring. There was mud and mucky stuff all the way around, and we probably had to veer around these very wet areas at least 50 times in the course of the hike. Beautiful lakes with many chances for viewing wildlife. We saw a few herons, ravens, spruce grouse and an otter. We took about 6 hours to complete, including a lot of time to stop and look for wildlife.
