Why choose a trail at Cavell Meadows, Jasper National Park, Alberta?
Edith Cavell
Meadows is a 6.6-kilometer trail. It is found in Alberta, Canada. The trail is
especially used for any type of outdoor activity such as hiking, walking,
running etc. During the hike, you can breathe fresh air and de-stress while
admiring the flowery landscape offered by the Edith Cavell Trail.
However, this trail is currently closed due to the construction of the Edith
Cavell.
The public does not have access to Edith Cavell Meadows during construction, as
their presence could impede the two-way traffic of trucks and heavy materials.
The day use area and the Edith Cavell parking lot are also closed.
Starting your session with the Edith Cavell car park, you can take a walk on
the Glacier Trail. It is a simple trail, ideal to begin to practice hiking.

Located near the city of Jasper, this track is ideal for professionals.This trail can only be used at the beginning of the summer. Indeed, it is just during this season that the path is dry, and therefore, ideal for hiking. The road to Edith Cavell Road is available from June and closes at the end of September or early October. This is due to the actual fall of the snow, making the road impassable.
Unlike other trails, pets such as dogs are not accepted on this trail. Indeed, their presence could hinder others. This Edith Cavell Meadows Trail is the perfect place to contemplate the beauty of the flowers, to admire a unique landscape. With its imposing mountains, this trail attracts many tourists now.
This trail, measuring exactly eight kilometers, offers a magnificent view. During your hikes, you will go through meadows to discover the specific flora of the Rockies. You can also see a glacier in Jasper National Park. For lovers of flowers and pretty colors, we often advise tourists to choose between mid-July and mid-August.
How to get to the Cavell Meadows Trail
To discover this trail, go south of Jasper on the Icefields Parkway on Highway 93. Turn right on 93A and follow it for 5.5 kilometers. Always turn right on Edith Cavell Road and drive for 15 kilometers to the car park at the end of the road. You have to be very careful and drive calmly, as this road is narrow and full of potholes.
Before choosing this track, you have to ask the right question. Why do I want
to go? Indeed, if you have already tried all the apprenticeship hikes in
Jasper, you will not have to hesitate to start this one. The journey is not too
long, but the path itself requires a lot of strength. So a little difficult.
In Jasper, the most popular sport is hiking on the Cavell Meadows Trail. You
can admire flowering pastures, glaciers and imposing slopes. Even if you are a
professional hiker, you have to think carefully before climbing its climax,
since it is very steep. It would be better to wear non slip shoes to avoid
slipping!
Aside from the walk, you have to prepare your car to reach the Edith Cavell
Meadows. Indeed, the road is zigzagging and full of small hole. You have to
drive slowly to avoid surprises. You will have to cross a steep slope of a
little less than 14 km, to finish at the car park Edith Cavell located at the
end of the road.
The Edith Cavell Meadows Trail is the kind of trail with several climbs, which
are in most cases very steep. During your walk, you will make a loop in this
well-bloomed landscape, discover the Glacier trail. The full, easy but very
steep path can take you to a high peak. For all this, it is imperative to have
a good physical and moral aptitude.
Note that for a hike, you must bring with you a bottle of water, a hat, a small
taste, and most importantly, do not forget his camera. These are the utensils
that every hiker must have with him at all times!

Starting Point
To reach the trailhead for the hiking trails, head towards Jasper National Park in Alberta. From the town of Jasper, drive south on Highway 93 (Icefields Parkway) for approximately 7 kilometers. Then, turn right onto Highway 93A and continue for about 5 kilometers. Look for the sign indicating Cavell Road and turn left. Follow Cavell Road for around 14 kilometers until you reach the parking lot at the end of the road. This is where you'll find the trailhead for your hike. Note that Cavell Road is typically open from mid-June to mid-October, depending on weather conditions.
