The dorothy lake trailhead is located in the Kananaskis Valley, approximately 60 km west of Calgary. From Calgary, take the Trans-Canada Highway (Hwy 1) west to the Kananaskis Village turnoff (Exit 118). Turn left onto Kananaskis Lakes Trail (Hwy 40) and drive for approximately 10 km. The trailhead is located on the right side of the road, just past the Upper Kananaskis Lake parking area.
